1. Oil

5. Transmission Fluid

Transmission fluid should be red, light brown, or pink in color. Any other color merits immediately replacing the fluid. Older cars will have a dipstick, similarly to checking your oil levels. 6. Brake Fluid

Your brakes need lubrication to work properly and avoid becoming stiff. This is a fluid commonly forgotten about, and some people do not even know where it will be under the hood! Fortunately, your manual will indicate where this is.
